Saturday, March 31, 2018 was our annual vaccination day at the ranch. This is part of the care necessary to keep the cattle healthy.
So, John held Rosie's head still with rope so Teresa could give her the shots.
We had a time with Rosie, she was a tad too small for the headcatch, and she insisted on showing us her business end instead of her head. Try as we might, we could not get her to turn around. Prissy is patiently waiting her turn in the headcatch.
Each of our cattle received 3 shots:
1) Triangle 7, which vaccinates against Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis, a highly contagious, infectious respiratory disease.
2) BarVac7, which vaccinates against Black Leg, a bacterial disease that can cause death within 48 hours.
3) OcuGuard MB1, which vaccinates against pink eye in cattle.
They also received wormer prevention, poured along their backs -similar to what you might give to your dog.
